Or just get a program that prints glGetString(***) into all the
standard Linux distro's.
I'm currently giving ALL my OpenGL software menu entries that
dump out all the glGetString contents to stderr...it's making
fault diagnosis 1,000,000 times easier:
Newbie: Your program won't use my hardware - you suck.
Me : What Mesa/OpenGL are you using?
Newbie: I just recompiled Mesa for my hardware.
Me : Are you sure?
Newbie: Yes.
Me : Are you really sure?
Newbie: Yes.
Me : Are you really, really, REALLY sure?
...
3 weeks and 400 emails later
...
Me: So it was some half-assed MiniGL that came
with Quake after all?
Newbie: <sheepishly>...yes...sorry.
Now, if my program runs at all, I can at least tell
people to mail me everything the program said and
*KNOW* for sure which version of what I've got here.
