I don't think it will work with current master. There was code added to
prevent people from using LAYERSERIES_COMPAT_core value directly ...

As Changqing explained we need to revert a commit because of it
so it would be better if people just used the appropriate branch.
If you think you can't convince people to use the relevant branch,
how long do you think you'll need to have meta-intel/master work with
oe-core/kirkstone? I'd like to drop our local change at some point! ;-)
