[meta-intel] install fido?

I'm having difficulties on a E3800 device. If I write an image (let's
say core-image-base for the valleyisland), fido based, to an USB stick,
it boots fine. However, I am unable to install it via the boot menu. If
I select install, it just boots straight on...
Are there known difficulties?
