Hi,
I tried right now with fido branch
Poky: fido/ b50596d8f6e858e2e733f2d9913a19c6f3cd5863
Meta-intel: fido/ 443b39e8f531b6691a68c88c269357bb01bc1b62
installing valleyisland 32 and 64 on an old atom Lenovo s10-3 netbook model and
for me it appeared the install/boot menu as supposed to. I must say I didn't
include the openembedded layer like in your bblayers.conf file, I just added
the meta-intel layer like specified in the valleyisland
meta-intel/meta-isg/meta-valleyisland/README
In order to install, before going into live boot, press the TAB key several
times and there must appear a prompt menu into console. You then can type and
run the "install" command to proceed with the normal installation, or "boot" to
proceed with liveboot.
Now, as far as I know, there is no timeout in grub set after the image was
installed on the device. Hope my info helps.
Regards,
Alex.

I attached them. I took all latest from fido branch and build the
core-image-base for valleyisland-64.
I just retested it by erasing my /dev/sda completely and install it from
scratch (via hddimg, written to usb stick). Now the first thing at boot is the
grub menu, but without timeout/default boot so it just sits there until I press
a button...
