If you use Toast, the recommended file arrangement is to place *shared*
files and Mac-only files in the Mac partition, and Windows-only files in
the Windows partition.

Again, engines are platform specific -- you cannot run a Mac engine on
Windows or vice versa. The crossplatform elements are your stacks. So
there should be no problem double-clicking your stack and having it find
the correct engine.

Unless Scott Raney can offer more info here, there is no difference that
I know of between distrbuting your stacks separately from the engines, or
as standlones. Note that most (if not all) externals are platform
specific, but otherwise sharing your media between standalones makes the
most less. Once your relative paths are established, your apps/media
will work anywhere.
