Well, here is some advice for those who 'don't know how to decompress and
install a .gz file'. or who like me want to finally get away from the MS DOS
straitjacket.

Until recently, once I cracked it, I have been dutifully using gunzip
itself - with MS DOS because it doesn't work with Windows, and because my
downloads were often corrupted if a browser/ Winzip or Mac/Stuffit then
transfer path was followed.

Now I use the easily findeable shareware FTP Explorer then Winzip and the
problems disappear.
