You can probably do this by setting the menuButton property to 3 (you
have to pick a number, you can't use both 2 and 3), but I'd recommend
reconsidering your UI design first as this is non-standard behavior
that's likely to trip up your users.

You should also look into the "pulldown" and "popup" commands, which
can be used to open menu-panel menus only after certain conditions are
met (as opposed to button contents menus which open automatically).
