Use the files and the directories functions.
answer folder "Select a folder:"
set the directory to it
put "Files:" & cr & the files & cr into tFilesAndFolders
put "Folders:" & cr & the directories after tFilesAndFolders
put tFilesAndFolders
You will see two periods (..) in the list of folders. This stands for the
directory above the current directory. FYI, you may set the directory to
".." to go up a directory from the current directory. Anyone familiar with
the Unix or DOS command line will have seen this before.

If you mean to output a formatted page from html tags, then the very limited
(compared to the current version of html) htmlText property might be
sufficient for your needs:
set the htmlText of fld 1 to <container with html page>
