Thanks all for your answers. I saw these commands, but could not figure 
out the directory working: too much time working on Mac! No it comes back 
to my memory... !-)

My need would be to analyse an html page: the output would be a 
structured description of the page, like: page = head & body, head = meta 
& title, title = "xxx", body = P1 & P2; P1 = table..... So then I can 
work on the logical structure of the html page...
