I write because 2.3 is around the corner and Adrian Sutton has just
completed a working Metacard CGI that puts virtually any MC stack on the
web a la Livecard. You will remember I commissioned this effort in order to
make my PaEDPac software available on the web. I have just come away from
the first demo. It works beautifully except for the speed. I don't wont to
steal Adrian's thunder and he will be in touch with you soon but the only
major problem is lack of JPEG export in MC. Adrian has worked around this
with Externals Collection, Clip2Gif and Applescript but it adds maybe 10
seconds to each download. How hard would it be to add JPEG export to 2.3?
If it was straightforward and you could sneek it into 2.3 then you would
have a powerful marketing strategy ie. sophisticated internet authoring for
the novice = create a conventional stack and stick it on the web. Think
about it for a few minutes.
