I did a fairly involved project that worked cross-platform Windows/UNIX, and
the  only issues I encountered were font differences and the method for
launching a browser from the MC app (because there's no registry to query in
UNIX). The coding to deal with these differences was not very difficult. You
also have to be sure that all the multimedia file formats you use work
cross-platform.
