I tried your suggestion but it appears that if you click on the backdrop no
key presses are processed even by the backscript. As long as you have
clicked on some stack/window then the key press is handled by the
backscript.
I am trying to come up with a way to always be able to bring up a menu even
if all the windows are hidden. It appears that if only the backdrop is
showing then no key presses are handled anywhere. I am beginning to think I
am going to have to create my own backdrop out of a new stack just so
there's always a stack visible and selected.
