Today I stumbled into my first info about Linux VR (I live in a Windows world
:-/). I see a couple of things:
- Linux seems highly esteemed by some as the right OS for future handhelds
- Linux-based handhelds are being developed/already available?
http://www.linux-vr.org/tools.html
http://www.agendacomputing.com/products/agenda_linux.jsp
- Firms like Forrester and Gartner Group are apparently saying there's a big
Linux handheld future out there
- Voice interface is being looked at (!)
On the downside (I guess):
- Linux VR is targeted at processors that don't have floating-point capability,
so different libraries are required.
All this tells me that haven't been paying attention, but I'll bet Mr. Raney and
Co. have been. Scott - can you pull back the curtain just a little so we have
speculation fodder? I'd like to know if we might reasonably expect to some day
see a LinuxVR MC engine.
Thanks.
