I need to describe in 10-20 sentences or less exactly what we would require
of a web host for installation of MC as a CGI engine on a Sun Solaris
server. . .
i.e. I have to be able to email something to a Customer Service Rep, which
he can then pass on to his people so they can evaluate exactly what is being
asked for. . .the prospective host says they offer:
CGI privileges with cgiwrap and Perl 5 support
PHP4 enabled
MySQL access
Secure server access
FTP access
And I am not experienced enough to articulate exactly what more than the
above would be required to install MC on the server. . .for security reasons
they would do it, not allowing us root level access. .but, then assuming
they did do it, what kind of "animal" will they be installing? How do I
describe it in terms of what kind of things we could or could not do with
that installed that could or could not compromise server stability/security
(which is the primary issue here) This is on a server where domains do not
have their own IP's.
