you must convert it yourself
set the itemDel to "/"
put the short date into tDate
put item 2 of tDate & "/" & item 1 of tDate & "/" & item 3 of tDate
this is a soloution but what about Americans
Much better to use the abbrev date because then everyone knows what your
talking about.
