OK I know we have been over this a dozen times, but now we are going to make a move. Trying to keep this a simple as possible: From previous posts, to get MC running on as a cgi interpreter on a unix box, I understand that it should be as simple as installing a copy of MC (proper UNIX flavor--Spark Sun Solaris ) into the a cgi-bin on our web site in Honolulu. i.e. another location is not necessary and it can be run right from our own cgi-bin. This would be transparent to the ISP (so far.) Then we put the echo.mt script in the same directory. If we can get that to work, we are "up and running." Then what do I need to ask the ISP to do that we can't do without shell access? Or, is it more complicated than that?
