For those of you interested, here's a test stack which I've created which should demonstrate the anomally I previously mentioned regarding PNG gamma and the other formats.

I haven't tested it on a Mac yet, but the PNG image should be a different color than the JPG and GIF images on Macs. On PC's they should all look alike.

Let me know if this isn't the case.
