My response in short:
The "space" in the Accept header is valid according to the RFC in
question, no problem there.

When left-clicking and going through Save-As the Firefox download
manager handles the initial connect. dTa only gets the redirected (to
a mirror) URL, and hence the TCN happens with the mirror, which won't
work.

This is a known limitation, and a fix is not expected for 2.0, but
only later. Actually I'm not quite sure how to tackle this right now;
there are a few options, most of which suck :p

Using dTa from the start, i.e. Right-click/dta on a link that points
to a TCN enabled server like mirrorbrain, will work, however.
