Hi List,  I  know you have all have been doing alot of meteorite
identification lately but i would like your opinions on this one. I just
returned from Mexico where i met an elderly man who believes he has a
meteorite. He witnessed it fall while working in the hills as a miner 20
years ago and he says it sounded like an airplane approaching. They went to
look for it and found a hole in soft terrain where he recovered this 470
gram stone. i asked him if he had searched for any additional stones and he
had not. I inspected it and believe it is genuine but still had some doubts.
It is magnetic and with a 10x loupe it has small metal grains. The brownish
to black crust has expansion cracks but seem thicker than normal to me. I
tried to convince him to give me nice sized piece for analysis, but he did
not care to cut it. I was able to acquire a few fragments with crust (about
0.6 grams) that i was able to chip off fairly easily, so it appears to be
some what friable. I snapped about 50 photos, so if anyone needs any
additional angle off list i can provide them. I can acquire this stone along
with the location of the fall if proven meteoritic. Any opinions would be
apprieciated. The links are provided below.  Thanks again  Bob C.
