What I do know now, is that this seller and Proud Tom are one and the
same.
Yes, he did send an email to someone who traced it down, and now we
know, Proud Tom sells fakes, among other misdeeds.

I spotted the fake on eBay and alerted everyone on FB. Through a team
effort,
the seller removed the listing and said that they would, "send it off

analysis".
Fortunately, no one bought this stone. Frustrating none the less ...
Not sure what you are referring to regarding the wrong email, but at
least we
stopped this from becoming a big issue, though one that will likely not
go away.

to a person who knows how to use an IP address, that unique number
assigned to each and every computer, to trace that email back to the
sender, and discover that the sender lives in Romeoville, Illinois.
