Aloha Meteorite lovers, Big Kahuna is announcing the recently recovered ‘Jrifia Boujdour’ carbonaceous meteorite found in south Morocco as NWA 10580. Carl Agee of UNM has determined this to be a CO3 (and not the CC ungrouped or CM ungrouped it was purported to be). Many identical appearing stones, shiny, black to dark brown, smooth weathered exterior with very small chondrule pits, saw cuts reveals numerous small chondrules and a few small CAIs set in a black to dark brown matrix (indigenous oxidation variations). Oxygen isotope measurements by Karen Ziegler confirm Dr Agee’s assessment. Specimens can be seen on eBay, via the links below.
