Subject: [meteorite_sale] meteorite
postcards, memorabilia, "ephemera" ;-) (AD)
Hi list(s) - (anybody know what "ephemera" means?
;-)
Yesterday I ebay-listed a number of meteorite-related
items.....but no meteorites. ;-) There are a
couple of serious, vintage items of academic interest, as well as some
goofy stuff just for fun, perhaps to whimsically display with meteorites just
for a smile. Included:
A 1930's Meteor Crater booklet, expressing the
position that the main "Meteor Mass" was still be found under the South
Rim.
A 1928 National Geographic issue, expressing the same opinion re Meteor
Crater.
A poostal cover flown aboard flight STS-8 of the ill-fated
Challenger, which would be lost some 30 months later.
An 1876 "Scientific American" supplement,
discussing (among others) the Tucson Ring meteorite. (A nice
engraving of the Tucson Ring in the article, too)
A "Meteor Man" cap, as well as some additional memorabilia from the movie
"Meteor Man", as well as from the movie
just-plain-"Meteor".
A number of meteorite stamps, postcards of the Brenham and Kallijarv
meteorites, etc., maybe stuff to put on your meteorite shelf to give a
little added visual spice.
For anyone still reading....have fun!
