If you read on it a bit further it says;
"Material such as agate, chert, jasper, petrified wood, obsidian, cinders and 
other volcanic products are generally not considered locatable under the 1872 
Mining Law."
It seems to me  these rocks you call meteorites are also volcanics?? So, I will 
treat them as such and that makes them fair game? 
You explain to me the difference in the eyes of a rock hound? I mean these 
things are just volcanic rocks until a Scientist says otherwise. Right?
