Tuesday, September 21, 2010 PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Paul Albertson of the southern Oregon town of Lakeview first picked up the small chunk of metal 30 years ago while rock hunting. He took it to a local rock shop and was told it was worthless nickel ore. So he tossed it into a coffee can, where it remained with some arrowheads for the next three decades. Now he's learned it's actually a thumb-size meteorite that's generating interest from scientists around the world.
