Dear Kenneth:

I will happily concede that it is entirely possible I am doing something
wrong. But, that is why you have this forum, isn't it? More than once I
have referenced my desire for a 'knowledgeable' response.

My use of color and underline in the email - as opposed to say, my
Mezzanine project - was purely for emphasis. That, too, is why people have
rich text editors, is it not? And if it is so universally hard to read, why
are these options universally available? One could argue that these
features make a document easier to read, by highlighting - a word commonly
used to describe the use of color - the various points of emphasis.

You have correctly understood my question. However, it doesn't matter if
you have done a dozen million deployments in the past. It is not working
for me in the present, and that is the only question on the table. It has
not 'just worked', or I wouldn't be here, taking up both your and my
valuable time, would I?

And, forgive me, but a brief criticism: My goal is to have color in my
text. So, contrary to your statement, you are very clear about my goals.
You obviously don't agree with them, or you would not have added your
'yuck' to your commentary, but the need for color in my use case is both
clear and essential to me, so your aesthetic values are irrelevant -
unless, of course, they 'color' your view of me, my question, my project,
and whether or not I deserve an answer.

Finally, you ask if I am modifying 'RICH_TEXT_FILTER_LEVEL' in the "proper"
place, and give a model url. This is what I have been looking for:
actionable diagnostic advice. It may be the correct diagnosis or it might
not, but it is actionable and it is relevant to the issue I am having,
unlike a cultural critique or anything else I have gotten so far. The short
answer is no, I have not looked here. Silly me, I looked in the files
themselves, files like tinymce_setup.js, sanitizer.py,,
'mezzanine.core.forms.TinyMceWidget', /mezzanine/utils/html.py, and
/mezzanine/core/defaults.py. And, speaking of the latter, if you looked
you would see that my line 338 now reads:
"default=RICHTEXT_FILTER_LEVEL_NONE," because I changed it to that, but
this was also ineffective. ]

So, now that I have your diagnostic tip, I have indeed gone to the url you
suggested, and changed the setting to 'Low'. I got the little signal at the
top that said my changes had been made, I went to my editor, I put in:

*This is a test.*

*This is also a test.*

08/21/2017

and guess what I got on my site? Nothing!

*This is a test. *

*This is also a test. *

08/21/2017

I even restarted the server, just to be sure. Same result. Any more
diagnostic tips?
