Chris, That would be a huge .jof file. You talking a couple of hundred drills between #97 and 1" drill. (source Machinist Hand Book)
What is the application you want this for? FFM, Advanced Turning, Production
Turning, etc.?
I have attached a sample macro and job file to this email. This macro is not
complete but may give you an idea of how you can automate your task without
creating a huge .jof file that needs to be edited anyway. You can create or
modify a CTK file to place a shortcut, icon or panel in your SmartCam
application.
The attached macro will automatically update the .jof file for drill
diameter, flute length, tip angle and speed. The macro will prompt the user
for the necessary inputs. The macro and .jof file are for advanced turning
but may work in production turning as well.
To use the macro:
1) Down load the attached files and remember where you save them.
2) Launch SmartCam Advanced Turning.
3) Load Job file ("file select" the .jof file I attached)
4) Macro
5) Execute
6) File select (the .mcl file I attached)
7) Answer the prompts
8) Check the Job Operation Planner the drill will be updated with the
information you input.
If you do not have the SmartCam application to run this .jof and macro you
can view the macro and how it works in Edit Plus.
