All: Has anyone out there ever encountered this problem? I am hooking up some DNC stations to a pair of Matsuura vertical machining centers with FANUC 5M controls. Because of their age, there is no serial communications ports on them, so input must be thru a parallel BTR. I have gotten one of the pair to function, but the other refuses to recognise the file being downloaded. The system will wait for the machine, but as soon as you press "CYCLE START" on the machine tool, it just dumps of to never never land and does not execute the program. I have gone so far as to drag the harware from the machine that works (the cable is long enough to reach) and plug that stuff into the obstinate machine and attempt to execute a program....NOTHING!!!
I am at my wits end, and the customer is not impressed in the least...Again, I know that this is not SmartCAM Related, but it does deal with the code files produced by the CAM software. Any ideas out there??
