Joe, Check to see if both machines had the same make and model tape reader. There were many different tape reader configurations, and the Fanuc's tape input port could be configured to match different types. If yours were different, then this is a place to start.
Both the control and the BTR should be adaptable. If you're keeping the tape reader, then you must change the BTR to match it.
