Use Project. Should work to project the 2D text to the round surface. See page 176

I am trying to create geometry for engraving on a round surface
without using a rotary axis. I have tried wraping the geometry but I
believe this only works with using a rotary axis. I want to do this only
with "x", "y" and "z" moves. There must be a simple way but I have not
seen it yet. thanks.
