Bob,

We use Valcool VNT 700 (by valenite) it's about $600 cdn for a 45 gallon
drum. Typically we use a %6.0 concentration, which keeps the solution rancid
free.

We machine all types of aluminum ;6061, 2024, 7075,etc many types of
stainless 304, 316, 416, 15-5ph, 17-5ph,etc. berylium copper, yellow brass,
red brass, mild steel, and all types of alloy steel.

We have an older machine which does not have a closed lubrication system.
(oil gets into the coolant tanks from the ways). With this machine we use
the pure concentrate as a lube oil !!! It seems to work well.

The best type of coolant we've found for roughing most type of stainless &
alloys is air. We hooked up a system of air lines with about 150 psi of air
pressure !! We have made vast improvements by means of a lower insert
consumtion. It took a while to get the right combination of insert grades &
such, but well worth it.

Some day I would like to assign an M code to an electric valve to turn the
air on & off automatically. As it stands, we use a manual ball valve !!

If you would like to know more about this, feel free to e-mail me.

Kris
