What we do is add a cleaner(we use valu-clean)and run the machine for 24 hours then completely disassemble machine. We clean the machine from top to bottom, steam clean all guards, trays and coolant sump. Tear coolant pump apart and clean. This happens every 6 months. We run our machines 24 hours a day, so you may have to adjust your schedule based on that fact.
We use oil skimmers. That coolant that we use is Blaser Swisslube. It is a very good coolant and we have had good success using it. We machine every thing from stainless steel to plastic.
