When I get less then favorable results importing files from

within SmartCAM using the File, Import or CAM Connection

I resort to using the external DXF_CAM_Connection 7.60

translator.

I'm assuming here you are importing from within SmartCAM.

Can anybody tell me why on occasion when importing DXF or DWG files I get a
totally unusable mess.
The elements are imported but have an unknown X value. Y values,lengh of
lines, angles are all there, but no X and if you try and zoom in to anything
nothing happens. also after importing a DWG file I then exported it back out
as  a DWG file and opened it up in Autocad without any problems.
