The SMM module seems to run fine on XP as do my macros that use the shell
command. Interestingly this morning I fired up in XP to see if the SMM would
start and sure enough the command box popped up just like it does in win2k.
After messing with other functions for a short time FFM hung again. I did
find however that by using the mouse to click the icon on the task bar to
bring FFM back into focus I could use the keyboard to navigate just fine.
Seems that only the mouse is not transmitting to FFM. I have seen odd
behavior in win2k when using this intellimouse and I wonder if it's part of
that? I will unload my mouse software and try again and let you guys know.

Excuse this XP rant, but......
I have been wondering when this would be posted. Not only
will Smartcam not run on XP, but any and ALL software that
has modules like Smartcam's SMM, that run in a DOS box in
the background. XP has NO DOS at all, guess what? This is
when everybody buys a dedicated pc for Smartcam running
Win2k, ME, 98 or 95, ugh. Not only Smartcam shells to DOS
operations, I have quite a few other programs that will
either live happily on a pre-XP machine or I buy all new
software. Now you see why Microsoft did away with DOS, to
sell more software.
Yet another sticking point, you will also need a pc built
within the past year because XP won't run on any older pc's.
XP is not in my budget. I don't need it unless it is in an
XP only environment. I figure that Smartcam will run for
quite a few years just like it has for over 10 years.
I still have not seen a better software anywhere.
Smartcam forever, and maybe for whatever comes after that
too.
