Dennis,

I've tried this before but could never get it to work.  I explode and export the acis(.sat) file from MDT but when I import into FFM I get an error "no surfaces found".

Grant,
I know there are Gurus out there a lot smarter than I, but export solids as acis, then import as acis(text). This works for me, and I get the best surfaces from solid modeling.

I can't do this because I need the surface data.  The dxf file will only give me 2-d info on the part.

Grant,

Try exporting as DXF file rather than IGES

When I create a part in Desktop (3.0) I normally explode the part and then
"igesout" to export an iges file.  I then import the part into FFM.  9 times
out of 10 I end up losing a surface or two.  Is this something anyone else
has a problem with?  Does anyone have a solution they can suggest?

Thanks in advance.
Grant.
