Try this...
1. Make a backup copy of the turning jof file (just in case).
2. Open the turning jof file in EditPlus or any other text editor.
3. Change the app_type in the header from "2" to "1".
header = 0
[
app_type = "2"
def_bldstmp = "tjpage.def - Fri May 10 14:17:24 PDT 1996"
file = "C:\\SM9\\TURN\\ATDATA\\Gsturn.jof"
rev = "21"
section = "5010101"
units = "0"
version = "2.02"
]
4. Search and replace all instances of "2520 with "2510
(the leading quotation mark is part of the string)
6. Search and replace all instances of "2420 with "2410
(the leading quotation mark is part of the string)
5. Save the file.
This is not perfect, there are other internal values that
are different, but these changes seem to be sufficient
for the milling applications to understand.

Subject: [mfg-smartcam] JOF Files and moving from machine to machine
Hi All,
We have a G&L mill/turn that we do a lot of drilling on, but sometimes we
have to offload parts to a vertical machining center for these operations.
What we usually do is transfer the PM4 file from one machine to the other.
One little glitch is that we have to re-build the JOF file every time, due
to the fact that the mill/turn is built in the ADV TURN module, while the
VMC programs are built using the ADV MILL module. Does anyone have any
ideas on how to transfer from ADV TURN to ADV MILL without rebuilding the
JOF file every time?
Also, I am curious: We have noticed an upturn of work in the
industrial/nuclear pump industry. Is anyone else out there experiencing an
increase in work? Just wondering if things are picking up in general...
sure hope so, my IRA index funds have been hurting long enough.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Regards,
