Frank,
Check your protocols and make sure you have the TCP/IP AND the NetBEUI Protocols installed.
Right click on My Network Places-Properties then right click on Local Area Connection-Properties. Check the list to make sure both of these protocols are installed. If not, click on install and select them from the list.
