I saw Dales macro at a Smartcam user day several years ago. I had a copy but have since lost it. A close 2nd is to create a flat helix, then explode it to polyline, then use the hole rough to put drill holes along the poly/helix. The hole rough panel also has a 2d spiral and a Z spiral macro.
in the ffm.ini or equivilent: [PCBPATHS] options=C:\SM11\SHARED\USRELMT5.PCB this macro is not as clean as dales was but it will get me by. I will try the plunge roughing next oppertunity I have. It looks like that's the way to go, especially if you have a 40 taper machine. All stresses go up the spindle axially rather than radially. This creates a better cut and allows higher feedrates.
