Parametrically , yes but finishes and other user defined specs remain same
as defined. For example if a 5/8 endmill is used to bore a 1.5 dia hole and
the engineers revise the diameter to 2.00 the feed and speeds remain modal
but the tool paths for the 5/8 endmill change to reflect the new dimension
by hitting "regenerate". But if the original hole was 2.00 and the diameter
is changed to .500 you'll be prompted for a tool change- in this case a
smaller tool. Call for a demonstration and flush your manufacturing yoke
down the drain. For a whole year I was pestered by salesmen who fearfully
put this software down with its learning curve crap. I am glad I stood on my
grounds.

Interesting claims, Larry.

So can Pro/MAN handle changes that would actually require a process
change? Like enlarge a hole so that it's no longer drilled, but now
it's milled? What happens if you change a surface finish spec in
Pro/ENGINEER (if you can even encode a surface finish in Pro/E!)? Does
it automatically update the process to deliver the spec'ed finish?

I've seen a lot of CAM systems in my days, but none of them are smart
enough yet to remove the user from the loop.

| With Pro Manufacture any change made on the model
| automatically changes your manufacturing part and
| regenerates the respective program. It is like magic . I
| used to spend hours on programming engineering changes from
| Solid Works , Microstations and from Pro/E drawings. With
| Pro/Manufacture all I do is open the model and hit
| regenerate and BOOM ! Everything updates from Design down to
| Assembly. You ought to know this software to appreciate it's
| masterly superiority over the other craps. I have three of
| those crappy softwares collecting dust on my puter and
| winking with envy as I wear down the Pro/E. I am not a
| salesperson ; I am just an honest satisfied user. And yes I
| need to work a little bit on my wife (upgrade ?) No. I love
| my Pro/E...Happy Thanksgiving folks.... Larry
