Jeff, Sounds like a scaling issue, Can you send a screen capture? (Alt+Print Screen, then paste into Paint and save as a file). What is your Icon Size setting (Small, Medium, Large) in the Configure Icon Bar dialog box? (Utility - Icon Bar - Configure)
The following is from my observations and is not the last word on SmartCAM icons. The "Large" icon setting displays the default 32 X 32 pixel icon, while "Medium" displays 24 X 24 and "Small" displays 16 X 16. Unlike other Windows applications that have separate icons for each resolution, SmartCAM scales down the 32 X 32 icons to fit the smaller sizes. The results are not always acceptable. In an attempt to address this I have in the past created custom icons optimized for scaling. I created 16 X 16 pixel icons (I use IconEdit Pro) and then scaled them up to the 32 X 32 "Large" size. When I used these in SmartCAM with the "Small" icon setting, they still did not appear as sharp as when originally created. There's just something odd about how the icons are scaled by SmartCAM. ============================================= Fred Lauzus, CAM Programming Coordinator High Steel Structures, Incorporated mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.highsteel.com <http://www.highsteel.com/> ============================================= -----Original Message----- From: Jeff [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, November 18, 2002 9:49 PM To: Sean Betty; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Smartcam User Group Subject: [mfg-smartcam] RE:Icons Thanks for the info Fred & Sean, I already have Icon Sucker and have gone that route but my icons still don't look better than the ones in the .dll file. They look so clear compared to the ones I create. Must have something to do with the dll file.
