I would consider returning, even though I recently bought a seat of
MasterCam. In many areas SmartCam is way ahead of MasterCam, even after
several years of no additional development. I would still be using SmartCam
it if it could read native solids. The new SmartCam would have to read
native solids.

All,

If this kind of thing occurred in the near future as a commercial venture,
would anyone buy the update and actually become a customer again? Some
people have investigated doing this, but it does require a pretty
significant investment to get it started. Some assurance from the customer
base that there is a market could help make it a reality.
