I would consider returning, even though I recently bought a seat of MasterCam. In many areas SmartCam is way ahead of MasterCam, even after several years of no additional development. I would still be using SmartCam it if it could read native solids. The new SmartCam would have to read native solids.

Some people have investigated doing this, but it does require a pretty significant investment to get it started. Some assurance from the customer base that there is a market could help make it a reality. - John Gent ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pete Ruehle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Smartcam User Group'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 11:55 AM Subject: RE: [mfg-smartcam] New SmartCAM > Wouldn't it be great if they dumped the rights to SmartCAM and made it > possible for anyone to open the code?
