Your volume ID or serial number of the drive is different from the Server code. The
Key define creates a server code from the vol ID. Hence, your authority codes will
work if you keep your vol ID the same when changing systems. There are utilities to do
this.

Subject: [mfg-smartcam] Server code

I was just going over my notes on the last OS upgrade. I upgraded from
win95 to win98 se and after the install tried running SmartCam.
Upon doing so I got an error. Server Code invalid, then I had to submit
for a new License Key. Does anyone know if this happens when you upgrade
to Win2k? I checked the Volume ID and it stayed the same after the
switch. Is the server code and the volume ID the same thing?
Is there any way around or to change the server code back to the
original? I can't wait 4 or 5 days for a new key, like last time.
Getting ready to load win2k today.
Thanks in advance,
