I need to define "SMF" files for a couple of recently acquired milling machines. I have 3 questions I was hoping someone might answer for me.

Different version fanuc controllers have different options.

2> Referring to question 3 in machine define, what is a "TTS" file, what does it do, and do I need to have anything in here? The reason I ask is that I have several mills already and I only have "TTS" files in the lathe section.

TTS is Tape to shape. Not too familiar with this.

In your template file look for section -
@TOOLCHG
You can put what ever you want in this to over ride the standard (Tword, M06, etc.).
I suggest putting // infront of anything that is in that section that you don't want in your code file. It keeps it in there but will not read it
@TOOLCHG
M00
#EVAL(#A=JOS_STR(tm_notes))
#ONBLK
(MSG, CHANGE TOOL TO NEXT TOOL, T\##TOOL #A)
#OFFBLK
