I recorded a V4.5 macro to show that it took me two minutes
to input this profile on T1 offset left using only the keyboard
and staring directly at the print in front of me.

No mouse required meaning no wasted time in clicking
and filling in dialog panel boxes.

However having said all that, you cannot beat V11.5 macros
with their IF/END IF and WHILE/ENDW loop testing or their
naming of array(s) capability. Not to mention shelling to DOS
and running BATCH files, plus reading and writing to files
with variables. Then there is the string manipulation stuff
for added enjoyment.
Functions keys, ALT functions key, SHIFT function keys plus
dimensioning, plus User made control panels, plus total
customization capabilities...sheeesh now I'm starting to
wonder "What gives?"

So to sum up I find myself using the best of both worlds.
Good old keystrokes with the UP and DOWN arrow keys and
mousing on a GUI interface with the productivity gains
of macros, both .mac and .mcl macros.

Michael Senack

I too have thought about this, V4.5 on DOS. What gives?
