   When I look for scanners I first look at what's supported for the SANE 
drivers in CVS (link points directly to the Epson devices):
      http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-mfgs-cvs.html#Z-EPSON

... and then I compare that list to what scanners are available.  
Unfortunately I don't see the V200 even listed in the list of Epson devices.

   The scanner that I'm currently using with Linux isn't being sold as new 
anymore [Cannon LiDE 30].
