Both work fine with Linux. I have Earlthlink, and surprisingly I don't have any complaints. Earthlink is slightly cheaper than TWC but typically uses TWC for the actual connection. At least at one time Earthlink was known for holding onto Usenet posts longer than other services typically did, which was what made it attractive in the days where everybody had dialup. > Does anyone use the 1.5 Mb plan, or does everyone get the 10 Mb plan? I think we have the low end plan, whatever it is. It fits my needs at least for now. I typically get 400kB/sec down, 60kB/sec up. > I'm going to try to talk with a Verizon tech guy soon about DSL > -- the sales people and web tools say I'm too far away to get it, but I > want to confirm that I can't get a lower speed service, and that the local > "SLIC" just down the road isn't going to be upgraded any time soon. SDSL with static IPs is more attractive (and more costly) if you'd like to offer/run services yourself. Cable is generally more reliable. "Business Cable", from what I know of it, isn't what it sounds like it should be. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [EMAIL PROTECTED]
