Interesting article: http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/ptech/03/13/factory.installed.virus.ap/index.html
It seems that a lot of digital devices such as picture frames and music players are coming from the (Chinese) factory preloaded with a bunch of viruses. If you need to run Windoze for any purpose (e.g., upload/download to these devices) you're probably more vulnerable than if you're running Linux... Still, something to keep in mind if you buy any digital devices. _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Mar 5 - Wearable Linux Computing Apr 2 - Building a Kernel the Debian / Ubuntu way May 7 - Setting up a platform-independent home/small office network using Linux Jun 4 - TBD Jul 2 - KVM (Tenative)
