While we are waiting to find out if & when we will be rebuilding our
house after the fire, I am considering getting a couple of regular
cellphones for my wife & I; we've been using tracfones for the past few
years, but while we're staying at the in-laws (who only have the one
phone line and no broadband available) we're using up WAY too much
time/money on prepay phone minutes. However, if we go for cellphones,
it might make more sense to forego getting landline service once we move
into our next house/apartment.

Now the issue of broadband options comes up. I'm considering that I'll
get DSL rather than cable modem service for cost reasons. Is it even
possible to get DSL without having regular phone service as well?
