I've recently been redoing my office at home and am finding stacks of
perfectly useable tech that I have no use for any more, and it got me
thinking, lots of others are in this boat as well.

So, I had this idea for the December meeting, which I'll call an MHVLUG
Christmas / non denominational giving holiday.

We'll gather together and first do a giving of knowledge, with the first
hour being devoted to lightning talks. I'd like to get as many people
engaged in this as possible. The focus will be on cool web or linux
desktop applications. If it's a package in intrepid, I'll install it on
my laptop in a guest account, and you can display from there, so no need
to bring your own laptop to demo. The goal here is to expose people to
new and interesting free software or web services that they may not have
realized existed previously.

Part two, will be an MHVLUG tech swap event. Bring in tech items that
you would like to find a good home for, and much like when porkchop was
here, we'll set up some tables around the perimeter and let people take
their pickings.

We'll of course end the night at the palace with an appropriate level of
holiday cheer.

There is no silver bullet. Plus, werewolves make better neighbors
than zombies, and they tend to keep the vampire population down.
