Awwww it's good to be back in Ubuntu once again!
The latest version of Ubuntu 8.10 supports my wacky Biostar motherboard.
Sound is working and so is the Video. ( Also Linux-HDTV in 1080p is once
again crystal clear )
Some advice, once you get your /etc/X11/xorg.conf working store it on a
accessible device like a thumb drive.
Turns out that even the latest nVidia drivers can not setup my old monitor
so adding back my old settings fixed it:

Section "Monitor"

But most if not all knows this, anyway I digress.....
So you guys did not get rid of me yet and it looks like I'm still around to
cause trouble!

Yours in Linux

Joe
