Mail servers today normally store mail into /var/mail/<username> with either 'mbox' format or 'maildir' format. [Historically mail used to be located in /var/spool/mail/<username>.] mbox is simply one big file where each email is separated by a blank line, and maildir is a directory where each email is its own separate file. Messages written by a user and not yet sent should be in their home directory, probably under ~/Mail. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected]
